I have a particular love for the uniquely beautiful sound of the piano, and am therefore passionate about, and dedicated to, making each piano that I tune sound its very best. I began three years' of training to become a piano tuner shortly after completing my degree. It was whilst studying for my degrees that I began to develop an interest in the physics of sound, and a love of abstract sound and music focused upon sonic effects. About four decades ago, sensing that the trade could easily become a place for unethical bottom feeders who want to make a quick buck, the Piano Technicians. I am a trained musician, with a BMus degree in Music from The University of Wales, Bangor, and an MMus degree in Music Composition from Huddersfield University. The love for music, woodcraft and collaborating with artists is what led Pierre to become a Piano Tuner Technician. I obtained my diploma in piano tuning and repair from Newark College - Europe's leading piano engineering school. I am a qualified piano tuner and technician. For example, it is recommended that pianos be tuned approximately once every six months (maybe more if they are heavily used), since changes in temperature and climate through the year will affect their tuning.
